Short and Sweet

“It’s the Law: A Rap Poem” by S. Pearl Sharp explains that laws are only put into place because people feel the need to break them constantly; these laws would not need to be made if people respected each other and were themselves instead of proving something.

“Snapping Beans” by Lisa Parker describes a moment collected over a long period of thought and reflection where the speaker realizes that although she misses home greatly in spite of her new college experiences, she still can enjoy and miss both; college and home.

“Thank You, M’am” describes what a single genuine act of unintended kindness can do for a person, which is save a life and a character: it is also about not judging people for their appearances.
