It's Over Already?

Langston Hughes’ "Thank You Ma'am" embodies the message that displaying kindness and positive attention to an unruly individual that perhaps did you wrong teaches a stronger lesson than punishment and revenge.

S. Pearl Sharp’s “It’s the Law: A Rap Poem” explains how the United States is under tight law, deriving from the fear of our fellow Americans; if the rules were to focus on producing resourceful and inspired behavior however, the country and its citizens would be in better shape to succeed in all areas of life.

Lisa Parker’s “Snapping Beans” recounts a story about a girl struggling to deal with drastic lifestyle changes accompanying her at school, similar to the peas she snaps into the silver bowl, struggling to break from their pods.
