The Importance of Experience

“Thank You, M’am”, by Langston Hughes, explains the recognition of one’s wrongdoing by being taught good manors and strong morals through someone who has already experienced their own transgressions.

“It’s the Law: A Rap Poem”, by S. Pearl Sharp, exemplifies the need for society to respect one another and respect the law in order for it to maintain the status quo.

“Snapping Beans”, by Lisa Parker, demonstrates the struggling effects of a new environment on a person and their ability to cope with these situations by indirectly expressing themselves to someone who is willing to listen.
